The looming price hike, driven by a complex interplay of market dynamics, threatens to disrupt the tech landscape and leave consumers reevaluating their tech budgets.

The anticipated surge is attributed to a narrative reminiscent of a tech thriller. First on the scene is the insatiable demand for SSDs, the sleek and speedy storage heroes of laptops, smartphones, and gadgets.

This surge in demand has tightened the supply chain, sending prices soaring. Adding to the chaos is the ongoing global chip shortage, a mischievous gremlin wreaking havoc on NAND flash production and distribution.

The report says, to complete the trio of challenges, NAND flash manufacturers, having weathered lean times, are flexing their market dominance muscles, aiming to boost profit margins and further inflate costs.
