On June 3rd, 2024, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health donated 300 units of Malaria Test Kits to NAHCON’s Medical Mission in Saudi Arabia.

This generous contribution was made during a courtesy visit by Ministry representatives Dr. Yahya and Dr. Bandar to NAHCON’s Main Clinic at Misfala Kudai, located in the AL-MUSAFIREEN Hotel. Dr. Abubakar A-Isma’eel, Head of Nigeria’s Medical Mission for the 2024 Hajj season, was present to receive the guests.

The visit highlighted the recognition of NAHCON clinics as highly responsible and professional by the Saudi Ministry of Health. This recognition stems from a strong partnership between NAHCON’s healthcare workforce and the Saudi Ministry through a coordinated communication and action strategy.

NAHCON clinics refer serious cases to Saudi hospitals for stabilisation, after which patients are returned to NAHCON clinics for continued observation. This collaborative approach helps reduce bed occupancy rates in Saudi hospitals.

The donation of Malaria Test Kits signifies the Saudi Ministry’s confidence in NAHCON’s ability to provide early diagnosis and prompt treatment, further solidifying the trust between the two healthcare systems.

In a related event, NAHCON’s Commissioner of Policy, Personnel Management, and Finance, Prince Aliu AbdulRazak, attended the 2024 Hajj airlift from the South-South region. The Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, bid farewell to the River State contingent at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Tuesday.

Governor Fubara encouraged the pilgrims to be law-abiding and to pray for the state and Nigeria. He also supported each pilgrim with a cash donation of $300 to mitigate the foreign exchange shortfall from their Basic Travel Allowance.

NAHCON Chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, expressed satisfaction with both developments, reflecting the successful ongoing collaborations and support for the Hajj pilgrims.
