French Embassy Launches €753,000 Plastic Waste Management Project Across Nigerian Universities

The French Embassy in Nigeria has initiated a €753,000 project aimed at managing plastic waste in 13 Nigerian universities. 

Announced by Mr. Sebastien Bede, Science and Higher Education Attache, the project under the French Embassy Fund (FEF) seeks to foster innovative solutions for reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices on campuses.

The initiative targets not only to mitigate the environmental impact of plastic waste but also to cultivate a new generation of environmental leaders within Nigerian university communities. 

A steering committee comprising representatives from participating universities and key Nigerian institutions has been established to oversee the project’s implementation and ensure its sustainability.
