Since joining from Belgian side, Genk in January 2017, the Nigeria international has lifted the Emirates FA Cup, FA Community Shield, and most recently, the Championship title with the club. His new contract extends his stay at Leicester City beyond a decade.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Ndidi said: “I feel great, I feel excited, I feel at home. That’s the most important thing. I feel really happy to continue with the club. My family is settled here and everyone back home, when they say Ndidi, they say Leicester also! It’s really amazing to be a part of this journey going forward.”

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Ndidi began his career with Nathaniel Boys before moving to Europe to join Genk, where he impressed in the Belgian First Division A and UEFA Europa League. This led to his move to Filbert Way in January 2017.

He made his debut for City in a 2-1 victory against Everton at Goodison Park. In a sensational first campaign, he was named Young Player of the Year after just four months with the club and represented Leicester in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Ndidi’s performances continued to impress, earning him the Club’s Young Player of the Year Award again and helping Leicester achieve back-to-back fifth-place finishes in the Premier League and lifting both the FA Cup and Community Shield in the following years.

At the international level, Ndidi’s talents have been recognized with 58 caps for Nigeria, including appearances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He will now rejoin his Leicester City teammates in preparation for the opening Premier League game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium on Monday, August 19.
