The meeting, themed “Educate and Skill Africa for the 21st Century,” aims to align the efforts of the AU and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) to further the continental integration agenda.

According to a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu will present the “2024 Report on the State of the Community.” The report will cover key areas such as peace, regional security, governance, economic integration, and humanitarian development.

The meeting will also include discussions on the AU’s conflict prevention mechanisms and strategies to enhance cooperation among regional economic communities.

“In his capacity as Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Tinubu will address the meeting on the status of regional integration across various areas in Africa, highlighting achievements and challenges encountered in West Africa since the last meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, in July 2023,” the statement read.

The statement also noted that President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials and will return to Nigeria upon the meeting’s conclusion.
