The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has confirmed fuel supply and distribution challenges in parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The company assured the public that efforts are underway to restore normalcy.

“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels,” stated Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, in a Saturday statement. He added that the company is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation.

Last year, President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies, causing a significant increase in prices. This policy was aimed at conserving foreign reserves and reallocating funds towards infrastructure and other development projects
