Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has discovered a fake fertiliser blending/storage facility in Nassarawa LGA of the state.

This was contained in a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Sa’ad.

This was in furtherance of its determination to execute part of its mandate on protecting innocent lives and infrastructure across the country.

The discovery was following an actionable intelligence information which also led to the arrest of 7 suspected unscrupulous elements who are involved in the economic sabotage of blending and re-bagging of non genuine fertilizer which is being sold to unsuspecting members of the public, particularly farmers.

Their deliberate and criminal activities is therefore endangering food security in the State and the Nation at large.

State NSCDC Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu led personality led the operation from the front over the weekend to the place where the adultrated commodities were found arranged for delivery to innocent farmers.

The Commandant advised farmers to be watchful and buy fertilizers from accredited and genuine distributors only in order not to fall victims of the criminals who want to make money using dubious means.

Bello Mu’azu assured that the Command will always go after criminal elements in the state in order to safeguard innocent citizens calling however, for support and cooperation from members of the public
