The recent wave of protests against bad governance in Lagos has come to an unexpected halt following a national address by President Bola Tinubu, in which he urged Nigerians to eschew protests and violence in favour of dialogue.

Sources told AAN TV that demonstrators have dispersed from one of the primary protest sites in the Ojota area of Lagos State.

President Tinubu’s appeal for peace and dialogue resonated with many, leading to the suspension of the agitations that had gripped the state.

The President emphasized the importance of addressing grievances through constructive dialogue rather than through disruptive protests.

AAN TV reporters observed that while protesters have left Ojota, security forces remain vigilant, managing traffic and maintaining order to ensure the area returns to normalcy.

The protests in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria were driven by widespread discontent with the current state of governance. Many Nigerians are clamouring for a reduction in the size and cost of government, improved measures to combat inflation, and urgent action to end hunger.

The economic hardships faced by the populace, exacerbated by rising food prices and unemployment, have fueled a sense of urgency and frustration among the citizens.
