The suspects, including a tailor who made the Russian and Chinese flags used by the protesters, are accused of attacking public and private property across the state capital.

According to Mansir Hassan, spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, the suspects exploited the #EndBadGovernance protest to commit acts of violence against residents. Damaged properties include a Hilux vehicle from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, a journalist’s car, a new generation bank in Tudun Wada, and the Zonal office of the Kaduna Traffic Law Enforcement Agency in Zaria.

Hassan reported that when security forces intervened to restore order, the suspects became aggressive, using stones, catapults, and other weapons. Despite the hostility, the situation was managed with minimal tear gas usage. The police recovered 38 Russian flags, one Chinese flag, two catapults, a bag of stones, and various vandalized items from the suspects.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police Ali Dabigi has enforced a 24-hour curfew in Kaduna and Zaria Metropolitan Cities. He warned that curfew violators would face arrest and prosecution, urging residents to cooperate with the police and security agencies to restore peace and protect lives and property.
