The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) troops stationed in Sector 3 Mongunu, in collaboration with intelligence operatives and the Civilian Joint Task Force, have intercepted a Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics supply network at the Cross Kauwa Market in Mongunu, Borno State.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the Chief Military Information Officer at MNJTF headquarters in N’djamena, Chad, the syndicate members—identified as Modu Gana, Mamman Saleh, and Babagana Muktar—were apprehended while en route to deliver supplies to the terrorists in their hideouts.

The suspects, who confessed to being key logistics providers for the terrorist group, were found in possession of various items intended for the militants. The seized items included a Techno phone, six goats, a carton of Maggi, charms, bags of guinea corn and millet, ground corn, metal bowls, a calculator, a wristwatch, perfume, prayer beads, 36 empty sacks, and other essential supplies for sustaining terrorist activities.

The captured syndicate members are currently undergoing rigorous interrogation to gather more intelligence that could lead to further arrests and the disruption of the terrorist logistics supply chain in the Lake Chad region.

The MNJTF emphasized that the swift and coordinated action of the troops, alongside intelligence operatives, underscores their dedication to fighting terrorism and securing the region.
