The Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards culminated in a star-studded award ceremony at the Sugar Factory Film Studios, Ilorin, Kwara State, on Sunday, with Nollywood filmmaker and actor, Femi Adebayo the highest winner of the night.

The brain behind the much-acclaimed film, ‘Jagun Jagun’ clinched six of the 24 award categories of the BON Awards, including categories like the ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Costume’.

Other big winners of the night include the film, ‘Momiwa’ for ‘Best Screenplay’ and ‘Best Editing’.

‘Unknown Soja’ also won the ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Child Actress’ categories.

Among other winners of the night are Kanayo O. Kanayo who won a lifetime achievement award presented by the Executive Governor of Kwara State His Excellency, AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, and the DG National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, Aare Abisoye Fagade.

According to the governor, Kwara State is open for business, and he hopes that the Sugar Factory Film Studios, the purpose-built facility for filmmakers will be the location for two epic films in the coming year.

The Best of Nollywood Awards, founded by Seun Oloketuyi remains a traveling pan-Nigeria Award dedicated to celebrating film practitioners and industry stakeholders.

According to Feranmi Olaoye, the Executive Director of BON Awards, the winners were selected after months of meticulous work by a capable jury.

Present at the event which was hosted by celebrated actress Toyin Abraham were personalities like Binta Ayo-Mogaji, Kazeem Adeoti, Mercy Aigbe-Adeoti, Femi Adebayo, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Biola Adebayo, and Foluke Daramola, Bimbo Manuel, Keppy Ekpeyong.
Others include Wole Ojo, Segun Arinze, Feyikemi Olayinka, Aishat Lawal, Sodiq Adebayo, Alariya, Hilda Dokubo, Fred Amata, and others.
