The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the official draw for the 2026 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will take place on Thursday, December 12, at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
The draw is scheduled for 14:00 Cairo time (12:00 GMT) and will be broadcast live on CAF’s official YouTube channel, CAF TV.
The 2026 TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON will feature 12 nations in the final tournament lineup. This follows the success of the previous edition, held in Morocco, which set new records for attendance and global television viewership.

A total of 38 African teams will compete in the qualifiers for a chance to secure their place in the tournament.
The following nations are set to compete in the qualifiers: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo, DR Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Malawi, Morocco, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
