According to the country’s statistics service, Ghana’s consumer inflation rose for the fourth consecutive month in December 2024, reaching 23.8% year-on-year, up from 23.0% in November.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Government Statistician, Samuel Kobina Annim announced that higher food prices primarily drove the increase. “This inflation rate is the third highest in the last 13 months and the highest in the past eight months,” Annim stated.
