A shocking revelation has come to light in Kenya, where Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has publicly accused the National Intelligence Service (NIS) of abducting his son, Leslie, last year.

This bombshell allegation comes amid growing criticism of the government’s handling of rising abduction cases in the country.

According to Muturi, it took a personal call from President William Ruto to secure his son’s release from the NIS.

This is a startling admission, as Muturi is the first cabinet member to openly criticize the government’s response to the abduction crisis.

The minister’s son was abducted on June 22, 2024, and Muturi has been seeking answers ever since.

Despite reaching out to top security officials, including the inspector-general of police and the head of the NIS, Muturi was unable to get any help until he approached President Ruto directly.

At least 80 people, including Muturi’s son, have been abducted in the last six months, according to a state-funded rights group.

The wave of abductions started after protests against tax hikes last June and has continued since then. Some of those abducted have been released following public pressure.

Muturi’s allegations have sparked widespread concern, and many are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

The NIS and President Ruto have yet to comment on the allegations.
