The Nigerian champions finished third in the group with five points, falling short of qualification. Egyptian side Al Masry joined Zamalek in the quarterfinals after defeating Mozambique’s Black Bulls 3-1 to secure nine points.

Zamalek, despite resting several key players, took control early, racing to a 2-0 lead. Enyimba’s striker Ifeanyi Ihemekwele gave the visitors a glimmer of hope with his fourth goal of the tournament in the 57th minute. However, the nine-time Nigerian champions couldn’t mount a comeback, as Zamalek sealed the game with a third goal late on.

This result sees Zamalek and Al Masry advance, leaving Enyimba to regroup and focus on future challenges.
