Liberian President Joseph Boakai has suspended over 450 government officials, including top ministers, for failing to declare their assets as required by law.
The affected officials, who include the ministers of education and health, will remain off work without pay for a month or until they comply.
Boakai, who campaigned on an anti-corruption platform, emphasized that transparency is essential for accountability.
While some political analysts support the move, civil society groups argue that the suspension is a mere symbolic gesture and insufficient to tackle corruption effectively.
