Somali security forces, in collaboration with international partners, have successfully eliminated more than 40 members of the Islamist al-Shabaab armed group in an operation in Hirshabelle state.
The operation, which took place in the Biya Cadde area, is part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
According to Somali National Television, the National Armed Forces, international partners, and local residents are continuing operations to ensure the area is secure.
This latest development is a significant blow to al-Shabaab, which has been responsible for numerous attacks and instability in Somalia.
