More than 30 migrants, including two children, have been stranded for three days on an oil rig off the coast of Tunisia, according to the Sea-Watch charity.

The group was spotted on the Miskar oil platform by a reconnaissance plane operated by Sea-Watch, with an empty rubber dinghy floating nearby.

The migrants, who had fled from Libya, are in dire need of help, with one person reported dead and others sick. They have not eaten for days and are trying to shelter from the wind and waves.

The charity has urged European authorities to act quickly to rescue them.

European governments have signed agreements with Tunisia and Libya to intercept and take back sea migrants, despite criticism from human rights groups.

The incident highlights the ongoing migrant crisis in the Mediterranean and the need for urgent action to protect the lives of those stranded at sea.
