Rising Nigerian boxing star Elizabeth Oshoba has taken a major step in her career by signing a promotional deal with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the sports management company co-founded by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

The 25-year-old WBC Silver and IBO International Featherweight champion joins an elite lineup of MVP’s female fighters, including unified super bantamweight titleholder Ellie Scotney, IBF bantamweight champion Shurretta Metcalf, and interim WBA super featherweight champion Jennifer Miranda.

Oshoba, who remains unbeaten with a 9-0-0 record, recently outclassed Czech boxer Lenka Volejnikova in a dominant points win at London’s York Hall. Her impressive performances have earned her international recognition and a growing fan base.

In 2024, Oshoba made history by becoming the first Nigerian woman to win a world boxing title. She is currently ranked 10th in the World Boxing Association’s featherweight division and fourth in the super lightweight category.

Before turning professional, Oshoba built a solid amateur résumé, winning a bronze medal at the 2019 African Games and a silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

“Every fight is a step towards greatness,” Oshoba told The PUNCH after her latest win. “This wasn’t just about winning but also about improving my technique and showing my versatility in the ring.”

The deal with MVP opens new doors for Oshoba, potentially landing her on global stages and major fight cards. Reports indicate she could feature on the undercard of the high-profile Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 bout set for July 11 at Madison Square Garden — a card expected to be streamed live on Netflix.

Since entering the professional ranks, Oshoba has clinched the IBO female super-featherweight title and the WBC Silver featherweight belt, the latter secured with a 10th-round knockout of Italy’s Michela Braga in Copenhagen.

With MVP’s global platform and support, Oshoba’s dream of becoming the world’s top female boxer is well within reach as she continues her meteoric rise in the sport.
