State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, emphasized the need for ethical broadcasting that respects the state’s cultural and religious values.

The ban is not intended to suppress political opinions but to prevent content that could undermine the state’s peace and moral fabric.

Media executives have pledged to collaborate with the government to raise broadcast standards and promote peaceful discourse.

Key measures include requiring individuals appearing on broadcast platforms to sign an undertaking to refrain from making abusive or culturally offensive remarks.
