Air Peace Limited has successfully repatriated 78 Nigerian women who were trafficked to Côte d’Ivoire under the false pretense of employment.
The airline deployed a Boeing 737 aircraft to Abidjan, where it picked up the victims and brought them back to Nigeria entirely free of charge.
Upon their return, Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema assured the women that the Federal Government would take care of them and that they would not be arrested.
He encouraged them to believe in themselves and emphasized the importance of restoring their dignity.
Onyema also announced that the women would receive comprehensive medical care, free of charge, at Duchess Hospital.
This humanitarian effort is part of Air Peace’s history of magnanimous interventions, including evacuating stranded Nigerians during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine-Russia crisis, and the xenophobic violence in South Africa.
