JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, while speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, revealed that technical glitches and other irregularities marred the conduct of the exam across several centres.

The Registrar overwhelmed with emotion, broke down in tears as he acknowledged the board’s shortcomings and the effect on affected students.

In response to the widespread complaints including unusually low scores and allegations of inconsistencies in exam questions and answers, the board announced that a total of 379,997 candidates will be required to retake the UTME.

JAMB’s decision comes after days of public outcry and mounting pressure from students, parents, and education stakeholders who raised concerns about the credibility of the 2025 exam.

More details to follow.
