Liverpool wrapped up their Premier League title-winning campaign in style, holding Crystal Palace to a 1-1 draw at Anfield in a celebratory finale capped by Egypt’s Mohamed Salah’s late equaliser.

With the league crown already secured weeks earlier, Anfield was in full party mode — red flares filled the streets, legends returned, and a sea of fans cheered the champions. Palace, fresh off their FA Cup triumph, lined up to give the Reds a guard of honour before kick-off, a gesture Liverpool reciprocated in a show of mutual respect.

Despite the festive atmosphere, Palace disrupted the script when Ismaila Sarr scored in the 17th minute after a defensive lapse from Conor Bradley. Liverpool pushed for a response, but Palace keeper Dean Henderson produced a string of saves, including a one-on-one stop against Luis Diaz.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, making his final Liverpool appearance, came on at half-time to a warm reception. But Ryan Gravenberch’s red card in the 50th minute left Liverpool with 10 men for the rest of the match, heightening the challenge.

Still, the hosts rallied, and Salah delivered in the 84th minute with a close-range finish, marking his 29th goal of the season. The strike also earned him the Premier League Golden Boot and brought his total goal contributions to 47 — equalling the 38-game season record, previously achieved only in longer campaigns by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

The full-time whistle sparked jubilant scenes, with both teams celebrating historic seasons — Liverpool’s 20th league title and Palace’s FA Cup win.

With the curtain closed on a memorable season, new Liverpool boss Arne Slot and Palace’s Oliver Glasner now turn their attention to the next chapter.
