The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Ulama team has cautioned Nigerian pilgrims against cursing President Bola Tinubu, state governors, and other leaders while performing the Hajj in Mecca. Instead, the clerics urged pilgrims to offer prayers for the nation’s progress and their leaders’ guidance.

Dr. Rafee Al-Ijebuwi, Grand Mufti of Ogun and member of the NAHCON Ulama team, emphasized that leaders are part of Nigerian society and should be prayed for, not cursed.

Sheikh Garba Al-Yolawi, Chief Imam of Area 10 Mosque in Abuja, echoed this sentiment, stressing the need for divine intervention amid Nigeria’s numerous challenges, including insecurity, economic hardship, and governance issues. With around 50,000 pilgrims sincerely praying, Al-Yolawi believes Allah can bring about positive change.

The advice comes amid growing public frustration in Nigeria over worsening security and economic conditions, with NAHCON’s Ulama team calling for patience, spiritual resilience, and constructive prayers during the pilgrimage season.
