Former Abia State Deputy Governor, Ude Oko Chukwu, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to personal reasons, ending a long-standing affiliation with the party.
In his resignation letter dated August 5, 2025, Chukwu expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunities availed to him to serve at various levels and appreciated the experience and knowledge gained during his membership.
The former deputy governor, who served from May 2015 to May 2023, wished the party well in its future endeavors.
His resignation comes after he publicly declared his support for Governor Alex Otti’s re-election, praising the governor’s transformative leadership and development initiatives in Abia State .
