Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has confirmed the death of Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Mustapha, former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, who served from 1999 to 2003.
In a statement shared on his social media pages, Fintiri described Mustapha as a man of service, dignity, and duty, whose legacy will live on.
Mustapha, an elder brother to the Lamido of Adamawa, held the revered traditional title of Sardauna Adamawa and was known for strengthening anti-smuggling operations during his tenure.
He received the Ministerial Award for Outstanding Performance in 1988 and retired from the Service in December 2003 after over three decades of active duty.
