Nigeria is set to present its final pitch to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in London on Wednesday.
A high-powered delegation led by Shehu Dikko, President of the National Sports Commission, and Bukola Olopade, Director-General of the commission, will make the presentation.
Other key members include Sunday Dare, Presidential Spokesperson; Habu Gumel, President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee; and Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts and Culture.
If successful, Nigeria will become the first African country to host the Commonwealth Games, a multi-sports competition held every four years among former UK territories.
The bidding process is expected to conclude in November, with other interested countries including South Africa, Canada, and India.
This bid marks another attempt for Nigeria after losing out on hosting the 2014 Commonwealth Games to Glasgow, Scotland.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place in Glasgow from July 26 to August 2.
