Vice President Kashim Shettima will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, delivering Nigeria’s national statement today.
Scheduled between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. New York time, the address is expected to focus on key global issues such as multilateralism, UN reform, climate action, and international finance restructuring.
This comes after President Tinubu’s notable appearance at the UNGA last year, where he advocated for permanent seats for Africa on the United Nations Security Council – a proposal currently under consideration by the world body.
The national statement will highlight Nigeria’s stance on pressing global matters, emphasizing the country’s commitment to international cooperation and development.
