Air France has suspended flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport and Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo, from October 11 to October 13 due to security concerns.
The airline will reassess the situation daily to determine when operations can resume.
This decision comes as Madagascar’s presidency announced an attempted illegal seizure of power, with some soldiers joining a protest movement that began last month.
The protests, initially sparked by grievances over essential services, have escalated to demand President Andry Rajoelina’s resignation.
The situation remains volatile, with reports of gunfire and exchanges between security forces and protesters.
The United Nations has called for restraint from security forces, urging them to avoid excessive force.
