The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has scheduled an emergency meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) for Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
A notice issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and shared by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, stated that both meetings will take place at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja. The BoT session is set to begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the NEC meeting at 2:00 p.m. The notice emphasized the importance of attendance, noting that “crucial matters will be discussed and addressed.”

The announcement comes after the PDP’s 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, where several high-profile members, including Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu, were expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
The expulsion motion was moved by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, seconded by Bauchi State PDP Chairman Samaila Buga, and later endorsed by delegates through a voice vote, under the supervision of Governor Bala Mohammed, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum. The action reflects the party’s determination to address internal dissent and enforce discipline within its ranks.
