A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Nyesom Wike has expelled Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), along with other key members, including former Board of Trustees Chairman Adolphus Wabara and former Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, for alleged anti-party activities.
The decision was taken at the 103rd meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) held at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.
Acting National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman stated that the expulsions followed repeated violations of court orders, undermining the party’s unity and reputation.
The NEC also dissolved party executives in Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, and Ekiti, while approving the existing structure in Edo.
The move has sparked intense reactions, with some describing it as a significant blow to the party’s stability.
