In response to growing public concern over alleged discrepancies, the House of Representatives has released the certified true copies of four new tax reform acts recently signed into law.
The move, directed by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, aims to eliminate any doubt about the authentic versions of the legislation after lawmaker Abdulsamad Dasuki raised an alarm about inconsistencies between the bills passed by the National Assembly and unauthorised versions circulating publicly.
The controversy prompted the formation of a seven-member ad hoc committee to investigate how altered versions came into circulation.
In a statement, House spokesperson Akin Rotimi urged the public to disregard any versions of the laws not certified by the National Assembly, confirming that the released copies are the only authoritative versions.
