The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles will depart Fez for Marrakesh on Thursday as they prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 quarter-final match.

In a statement on Wednesday, the federation said the three-time African champions will face the winner of the Algeria vs DR Congo Round of 16 clash on Saturday, with the game scheduled to kick off at 5pm WAT.

The update followed Tuesday evening’s training session at the Sardienne Complex, which saw all 26 available players participate. Defender Ryan Alebiosu remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from injury.

The move to Marrakesh aligns with a new CAF arrangement for this edition of the tournament, where each team has been assigned a designated camp. The Super Eagles are expected to return to Fez after the quarter-final and will travel to Rabat if they progress to the semifinals, where they could face either Morocco or Cameroon on January 14.

Meanwhile, NFF officials dismissed reports of unrest within the squad following Monday’s 4-0 win over Mozambique, which secured Nigeria’s place in the last eight. Speculation arose after striker Victor Osimhen was seen gesturing towards Ademola Lookman during the match.

Team administrator Dayo Achor clarified on Tuesday evening: “There is no problem whatsoever in our camp. Whatever people saw as a crisis between two brothers was resolved within a couple of hours. All is good, and we are presently at training.”

Achor also addressed claims that forward Jerome Akor Adams had left the team camp, explaining that he had briefly visited his hospitalized mother in Fez and returned within an hour.
