Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have rounded off their preparations for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup with a victory over Puerto Rico in a closed-door friendly.

The final warm-up match gave the African champions an opportunity to test their tactics, assess their readiness and build momentum ahead of the global tournament.

With their preparations now complete, D’Tigress will shift their focus to the World Cup in Berlin, Germany, where they are set to face Nigeria’s D’Tigress will face South korea, Hungry and France in Group B which starts on September 4, 2026.


The Nigerian side will be aiming to translate their impressive preparations into strong performances at the tournament as they target a deep run on the world stage.
