The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea to officiate the semi-final clash between Nigeria and Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 39-year-old, regarded as one of Africa’s top referees, will be taking charge of his second match of the tournament. He previously served as the centre referee in the group-stage encounter between Algeria and Burkina Faso.
Laryea was also part of the officiating crew in the quarterfinals, where he led the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team during the match between Morocco and Cameroon.
South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela and Souru Phatsoane of Lesotho have been named as assistant referees one and two, respectively. Rwanda’s Samuel Uwikunda will act as the fourth official.
Meanwhile, renowned South African official Abongile Tom will oversee VAR duties for the semi-final.
