Athletics Federation of Nigeria List 50 Athletes for African Games

The Nigerian Athletics Federation has listed 50 Athletes for the Ongoing 13th African Games in Ghana with 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan, heading the list.

The list includes reigning national champions in the 100m and 200m Race for Men Okon Israel, Consider Ekanem and Tokyo 2020 Olympics 100m finalist, Enoch Adegoke. In the 100m, 400m, 800m and 4x400m events for men, Itshekiri Usheoritse, Seye Ogunlewe, Alaba Akintola and Adekalu Fakorede will represent Nigeria. In the women’s 200m and 4x100m, Olajide Olayinka, Blessing Ogundiran, Justina Eyakpobeyan, Abinusawa Moforehan, Onyebuchi Chisom and Amusan will fly the country’s flag.

For the women’s 400m and 4x400m, Patience Okon-George, Esther Joseph, Brittany Ogunmokun, Okon Esther, Yetunde Saibu and Omolara Ogunmakinju were also included in the list In the Female Category, The 100m hurdles will see Faith Osamuyi and Stella Ayanleke compete along with Amusan. In the 800m and 1500m, Comfort Anietie and Ronke Akanbi were listed, while in the 3,000m steeplechase and high jump events Akanbi and Ewa Peace will represent Team Nigeria.

Brume, Ruth Usoro and Pristina Ochonogor were named for the long jump, with Usoro also competing in the triple jump event. Sade Olatoye will compete in the shot put and hammer events, while in the discus throw, Chioma Onyekwere, Ashley Anumba and Obiageri Pamela will be hoping to go for glory.
