Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has protested her alleged exclusion from the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) committee.
She arrived at the committee meeting prepared to participate, only to find her name missing from the official attendance list.
Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed the committee chairman, Titus Zam, told her his actions were based on “instructions from higher authorities”.
The senator described the incident as “part of a recurring pattern of marginalisation”, emphasizing that all senators are constitutionally equal. She questioned the procedural and constitutional basis for her exclusion, stating, “I will not watch any senator here undermine my people. I will not have that”.
Tensions escalated when aides attached to the committee chairman allegedly confronted her media team, seizing a cinematographer’s phone and engaging in verbal hostility.
Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to fairness and institutional integrity, citing respect for her electoral mandate.
