21-year-old Abayomi Vincent Adeyemi has won three medals in WeightLifting at the 2023 Ongoing AllAfricaGames in Ghana.

Adeyemi whose father is also a weightlifter won three medals competing in the Mens 106kg at the GCB Hall even tho he was injured. He won two Bronze and One Silver Medal in WeightLifting with 151 kg in Snatch and 190 kg totaling 341 kg to add to Team Nigeria’s Medals at the AllAfricanGames.

Abayomi Vincent Adeyemi is a rank 4 weightlifter determined to make Nigeria and his Church, Cherubim & Seraphim proud winning two gold and one silver medal at the national trial in Abuja. He was also called up to the national team to represent Nigeria at the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco. He started WeightLifting Seven Years Ago when his Dad, a former weightlifter and Coach introduced him to the Sport.

Nigeria now tops the Medals Table in WeightLifting with 15 Golds, Five Silvers and 6 Bronzes making a total of 26 medals gathered so far in WeightLifting. On the Overall Medal Tables, Nigeria is second behind Egypt with 22 Golds, 13 Silvers and 19 Bronzes which equals to a total of 54 Medals.

Total – 341kg

Snatch – 151kg

Clean & Jerk – 190kg
