Bamidele Oluwatope Saint, the Nollywood comedian and content creator widely known as Okemesi, has passed away.
The sad news was confirmed by his colleague, Jeff Owolewa, popularly known as Tony Montana, who disclosed that the actor was pronounced dead at about 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday. His remains have since been deposited in a morgue.
Okemesi had reportedly been dealing with health challenges in recent weeks. Reports indicate that he slipped into a coma after experiencing complications linked to medication administered during treatment at a private hospital.
Before his condition worsened, the actor had publicly appealed for financial assistance as his health declined and he faced housing difficulties. Supporters and well-wishers later rallied around him, helping him secure a new apartment just days prior to the deterioration of his health.
Owolewa further revealed that attempts were made to transfer him to other medical facilities, including a government hospital in Igodo. However, securing admission proved difficult due to a lack of available space.
His death has since sparked an outpouring of grief from colleagues, fans, and members of the entertainment community.
