Kenyan authorities have arrested Okeke Ikechukwu, a Nigerian national, and Alex Opondo, a Kenyan national, for their alleged involvement in a narcotics trafficking network.
The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit and the Transnational Organised Crime Unit.
The operation, based on credible intelligence, targeted a suspected narcotics exchange in Syokimau, Machakos County.
Although the suspects weren’t found at the location, authorities redirected their efforts to Ruaka, Kiambu County, where they recovered suspected narcotic substances, digital weighing scales, mobile phones, foreign passports, and cash in Kenyan ands Nigerian currencies.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned in court today as investigations continue to trace additional suspects and dismantle the wider trafficking network.
