Nigeria and South Africa have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation and democratic governance.
The agreement, signed in Abuja, aims to deepen collaboration, promote knowledge exchange, and enhance institutional capacity between legislative institutions of both countries.
The pact is expected to support continental initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area.
South Africa’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Prof. Bobby Moroe, described the agreement as a milestone in bilateral relations, emphasizing the need for strong leadership and alignment of legislative frameworks.
Nigeria and South Africa share a unique historical and diplomatic relationship, occupying significant leadership positions in Africa’s political and economic landscape.
