Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, appeared before the Kaduna State High Court on Monday, April 13, 2026, as proceedings resumed in his ongoing trial instituted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
El-Rufai is standing trial alongside Amadu Sule over allegations bordering on abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage, among other charges.
The former governor is also facing a separate 10-count charge before the Federal High Court in Kaduna, bordering on alleged abuse of office, money laundering, and fraud involving N579.6 million and $1.1 million.
A bail hearing in the case has been scheduled for April 14.
Before entering the courtroom, El-Rufai was overheard discussing the forthcoming convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with an associate, suggesting his continued involvement in party affairs despite the ongoing legal proceedings.
