The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has announced plans to unveil its Drone/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) portal during the 6th Africa International Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition, DroneTecX 2026.
The conference is scheduled to hold from May 12 to 16 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, and shared via the agency’s X handle.
According to the authority, the portal is designed to simplify and digitalise the regulation of drone operations in Nigeria while supporting the growth of the sector.
The NCAA said the platform would enable users to carry out processes such as drone registration, operator certification, incident reporting, ownership transfers, and compliance management through a single interface.

“The new digital portal consolidates the entire application and approval lifecycle into a single, user-friendly platform,” the statement read.
It added that operators would be able to upload required documents, submit safety case files, and monitor application status in real time in compliance with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs Part 22).
The authority encouraged drone operators, service providers, stakeholders, and prospective users to explore the platform ahead of its official rollout and attend the launch event at DroneTecX 2026 for demonstrations and practical guidance.
The NCAA also urged interested users to visit the official RPAS portal for more information.
The initiative is expected to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and improve operational efficiency within Nigeria’s drone industry.
