Joy Omewa scored twice while Asisat Oshoala added a goal as the Super Falcons cruised to a 3-0 victory over Senegal in an international friendly in Ikenne on Monday.

The win completed a double-header sweep for Nigeria after the nine-time African champions edged the first meeting 2-1 on Friday, underlining their readiness ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Head coach Justine Madugu made five changes to his starting line-up, handing opportunities to Chiamaka Nnadozie, Gift Monday, Joy Omewa, Rinsola Babajide and Rofiat Imuran.

Nigeria dominated the opening exchanges and created several chances, with Omewa and Monday causing constant problems for the Senegalese defence. Despite their superiority, the Super Falcons were unable to find a breakthrough before halftime, with Omewa striking the woodwork after rounding the goalkeeper.

The deadlock was finally broken three minutes into the second half when Shukurat Oladipo delivered a pinpoint cross for Omewa, who powered home a header to put Nigeria in front.

The forward doubled the lead seven minutes later, showing strength and composure to break through the Senegal defence before calmly finishing for her second goal of the game.

Nigeria sealed the victory in the 66th minute when captain Rasheedat Ajibade embarked on a brilliant run before setting up substitute Asisat Oshoala, who made no mistake from close range.

The victory gave the Super Falcons a 5-1 aggregate triumph across the two friendly matches as they conclude preparations for the 2026 WAFCON, scheduled to hold in Morocco from July 25 to August 16.

Nigeria, chasing a record-extending 11th continental title, have been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Zambia and Malawi, while Senegal will face hosts Morocco, Algeria and Kenya in Group A.
