Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a move to Turkish second-tier club Bursaspor after signing a three-year contract with the former Super Lig champions.
Bursaspor announced the signing on Friday through a social media video, confirming the arrival of the 29-year-old following the expiration of his contract with Scottish champions Celtic.

The transfer ends speculation over Iheanacho’s future after Celtic had explored the possibility of retaining the striker. Returning manager Martin O’Neill had recently revealed that the club was in talks with the player’s representatives over a new deal.

However, the Super Eagles forward opted for a fresh challenge in Turkey where he joins fellow Nigerians Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu.
Iheanacho enjoyed a productive spell with Celtic, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in 24 appearances. He also played a key role in the club’s Scottish Premiership title-winning campaign, scoring important goals against Dundee, Hibernian and Motherwell during the closing stages of the season.

The former Manchester City and Leicester City striker also found the net in Celtic’s Scottish Cup final victory over Dunfermline, helping the club complete a successful domestic campaign.
Bursaspor will be hoping Iheanacho’s experience and goalscoring ability will strengthen their squad as they target promotion back to the Turkish top flight.
