Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the payment of the first phase of the medical expenses of veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, following her appeal for financial assistance to undergo multiple surgeries.

The 62-year-old actress, who is an indigene of Abia State, recently revealed that she requires three surgeries and needs about ₦30 million to cover the cost of her treatment.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Okey Justice, disclosed the intervention in a post on X, thanking Otti for responding to the actress’s health challenge.

He said the governor had approved the payment of part of Nwosu’s medical bills, describing the intervention as timely.
While appreciating the governor for his support, Justice noted that the assistance covered only part of the actress’s medical expenses and appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to continue supporting her.

He also expressed the gratitude of members of the creative industry to the governor for the intervention, describing it as a significant gesture towards the veteran actress.
Nwosu, who is known for her roles in popular Nollywood productions, had earlier appealed to the public for financial assistance to enable her undergo the required surgeries.
