The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, has announced Nigeria’s readiness to kickstart local automobile production before the year’s end.

This was disclosed in a meeting between the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers and the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association in Abuja. She emphasized that funds have been allocated to support the growth of Nigeria’s automotive industry, urging local manufacturers to prioritize sourcing materials domestically.

The African Association of Automotive Manufacturers, dedicated to advancing the automotive sector’s industrialization and development across the continent, collaborates with governments to shape policies, attract investments, and enhance Africa’s economic potential through sustainable and affordable mobility solutions. The association is based in Johannesburg, South Africa serves the automotive industry, including manufacturers, investors, and policymakers.
