My attention has been drawn to a defamatory post made by one Maureen Badejo on Facebook, wherein she alleged that I received £9,000 to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for her. She also went as far as downloading and using pictures of myself and my wife to support this false narrative.
This is to categorically state that I have never had any form of business dealings or financial transactions with Maureen Badejo. At no time did I receive any money from her or on her behalf.
Maureen Badejo contacted me concerning a visa refusal for an individual. Upon inquiry, I discovered the application was connected to a project my company had previously been involved in. I had access to certain details due to my role and responsibilities at the time. After logging into the system, I confirmed that the CoS in question was genuine. She mentioned needing a letter for an administrative review of the refusal, which I issued in good faith and signed accordingly. This was the extent of my involvement, and it is how she came to know my name.
Subsequently, she claimed that Mr. Aderinkola Olayinka, CEO of the charity organization involved, denied any knowledge of the sponsor license and labeled our actions as fraudulent. I strongly refute this. Mr. Olayinka had multiple meetings with my superiors, including Dr. Ekuase Edowonyi (CEO of Steeple Global Consulting Firm), regarding this project.
I am aware that, on one occasion, Mr. Olayinka allegedly received £10,000 from Dr. Ekuase at a restaurant. If there is any doubt about this claim, CCTV footage can be requested to verify the meeting. Similarly, CCTV footage from our office can confirm the times Mr. Olayinka visited to meet with Dr. Ekuase and my superiors. I was not privy to the details of those discussions, as I was only later assigned a role in the project as an employee.
Let it be clearly understood that I was only involved in my capacity as an employee, and I did not benefit financially in any way from Maureen Badejo or any associated parties. I consider her post false, misleading, and defamatory.
If necessary, I will take appropriate legal action to address and seek redress for the damage caused by these unfounded allegations.
