A viral video has sparked outrage after showing an altercation between a Nigerian traveler, Ms. Omisore G., and a Kenya Airways representative.
The Nigerian government has condemned the airline for its “inhuman treatment” of Nigerian passengers in Nairobi.
According to Tunde Moshood, a media aide to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Ms. Omisore was denied boarding in Nairobi despite having a valid ticket.
The government has accused Kenya Airways of disrespecting authorities and threatening to deport Ms. Omisore.
Kenya Airways has released a statement claiming that Ms. Omisore was traveling without a required SCHENGEN Visa and was offered an alternative route, which she refused.
The airline also alleged that Ms. Omisore engaged in inappropriate behavior, including throwing used sanitary pads at airline employees.
The incident has sparked a heated debate about the treatment of Nigerian passengers by Kenya Airways.
The Nigerian government has vowed to take action to protect its citizens’ rights.
