Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, the newly appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has announced plans to introduce a new budget for 2025.
The appropriation bill, currently being finalized, aims to address critical development concerns such as healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Ibas made this announcement during a meeting with a delegation from the Rivers State caucus at the National Assembly, led by Senator Barinada Mpigi.
The planned budget will also focus on creating employment opportunities and advancing technology adoption in key public sectors.
The Sole Administrator emphasized the importance of transparency, inclusivity, and expediency in the budgeting process.
He also sought the support of lawmakers in securing necessary resources and legislative backing for his administration’s initiatives.
Ibas’ appointment has been met with criticism, and protests have been planned by various groups.
However, he remains committed to restoring stability and promoting development in Rivers State.
